India let’s say hello to “HELLO’
Must say, what an entry! Killer!
Once super popular ORKUT, which was wiped out in 2014 when it lost its shine with the launch of its rival- FACEBOOK has now made a comeback and that too not just come back, a comeback with a bang indeed.
Facebook’s popularity is going down due to the privacy breach scandal; people are vouching to deleting their FB profiles and abandoning the most popular social media app, FACEBOOK.
Launched under the name of ‘HELLO’, this social networking app is still in its Private BETA stage in India. It has already been launched in Brazil and is gaining fast popularity.
According to Orkut Buyukkokten, the founder of HEllO, Hello is a unique social media platform that helps you connect with people similar passion and interest. It lets you develop an interest-based connection which aims at developing communities that is involved in something much more than mere broadcasting.
When asked, Orkut stated that with HELLO, the aim is to create positive, meaningful, authentic connections and sustained social engagement.
He emphasized the fact that while registering your account, Hello doesn’t ask you for your personal data, instead it asks you about 5 things that you are truly passionate about. Based on those data, users are given recommendations.
About advertising, he mentioned that any person wishing to advertise on HELLO should mandatorily hold a HELLO profile, this is to ensure greater accountability. He added no personal data would be shared with any third party app for any purpose.
Well, it would not be wrong to say that the data breach scandal which is a nightmare for Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, has turned out to be a boon for Orkut indeed.
